Three Wheeled Buggies
Three-wheeled buggies are great for walking around the neighborhood or running. Their compact design allows them to be maneuvered easily, even in tight spaces.
If you want a smooth ride on your pram, choose models with 360deg front wheels that swivel. However, they are susceptible to punctures, so be prepared with a repair kit.
Sturdy frame

Figures have just been released showing that the three-wheeled vehicle - a symbol of the noughties of more money than sanity - is in steep decline. They are being replaced by four-wheelers that can be more versatile in terrain, while also looking stylish and easy to push.
The bigger the wheels are the better your buggy will cope with bumpy surfaces and uneven pavements. The larger wheels, both front and rear, make it easier to move and more stable when walking downhill or on difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tried the buggy with a newborn and 3 year old and found it coped well with cobbles, grass, rough roads, dirt tracks, and kerbs. She said "it feels sturdy to push and very solid when you're on rough terrain. The tyres, that are inflatable and require to be pumped up regularly and have a suspension built-in. This was very comfortable for my kids.
Another thing to think about is the size and shape. You want the seat to be large enough for your child to feel at ease and to lie down. Some three-wheel buggies will have the option of reclining completely, while others allow the parent to be facing one.
The Roma Atlas is a great option for off-road and muddy walks. This buggy can be used as a one-person unit from birth, and then expands to accommodate two children as your family grows. It is suitable for infants and toddlers until age four and includes a bumper bar, raincover, a better 5-point harness, and a large cushioned seat. Storage options are also good with a large basket and zip pockets on the hood and an extra pouch on the rear of the seat unit.
Larger wheels
Larger wheels give your buggy more stability while driving on rough terrain. This is ideal for buggies that are off-road. They also help you navigate the pushchair through tight spaces. Some three-wheeled buggies come with rotating wheels on the front, which assist you in navigating tight corners. Others are designed to run and have fixed wheels that lock to provide increased speed and stability. This is especially useful when you crash into trees or a kerb. The front wheel will be lifted slightly to avoid hitting it.
Many 3 wheel pushchair s feature air-filled tyres, which means they can be used on a variety of terrains and are more adaptable than 4-wheelers. They also tend to be lighter. However, they're prone to punctures so you'll need to keep an repair kit, spare inner tube and pump handy.
Some of our favourite 3-wheelers include the Mountain Buggy Core and Venicci Carbo Lux. These buggies, according to MFM's Kath, have larger wheels which according to her "perform well on grass, gravel roads and market town cobbles" and are able to climb or descend kerbs. The buggies also come with a suspension that according to Kath "smooths out bumps with great efficiency".
The downside of having bigger wheels is that they make buggies quite large and may struggle to squeeze through narrow spaces. This can be an issue if you plan to use it for jogging or you need to get through narrow doorways while out and about. Fortunately, the majority of models come with small folding options that allow you to remove the front wheels to create more compact storage.
Easy to Manoeuvre
A three-wheel buggy can be more comfortable to drive with a child. They are designed to ensure that the front wheels be turned on a dime and are easy to navigate, making them ideal for terrains that are difficult, such as cobblestones, parks as well as bumpy roads and dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tested a 3 wheeler with her toddler and newborn and wrote: "The Terrain was a delight to maneuver on the terrain with the swivel rear wheel particularly useful. I was also awed by how well it dealt with bumps, particularly when using the hand-operated brake. I found it extremely stable when driving downhill or on uneven ground."
The only downside to this incredible maneuverability is that the larger wheels of the 3-wheel buggy may make it difficult to squeeze into tight spaces. This is something you need to be aware of when your home is one of the cities. If this is an issue, a 4-wheeled buggy may be a better option for you.
Bumper bar
Bumper bars are the ideal way to protect your little one from scrapes and bumps when out and out and about. These bumper bars are simple to put in place and will allow your child to feel safe and secure out and out and about.
Created to match the sleek lines of the sleek lines of your Slim Twin stroller, this bumper bar has an upholstered and soft surface that offers a comfortable place for your child to hang on to while walking. The robust construction and sturdy design will ensure that your child is capable of enjoying a stroll around the town without having to worry about falling or leaning towards the side.
The sling is stowed within the frame and not on top of the modular seat. This creates a lower center of gravity for your newborn at the perfect height and also offers great weight distribution, making it easier to climb over curbs (it is much easier to push a stroller up and down than you think). MFM reviewer Kath found it coped really well with cobbles and grass and it's a good option for jogging with its lockable swivel front wheel that can be locked and air filled tyres.
With a sophisticated and stylish appearance, this bumper bar is sure to draw attention wherever you go. Available in a range of colours and finishes and designs, it can be tailored to suit your personal style. It has a simple, quick-release mechanism that makes it easy to remove and install the bumper bar when needed. The bumper bar is easy to clean, as it is constructed from sturdy materials. This makes it a great option for families looking for a safe and stylish accessory for their stroller.
Comfort
A 3-wheel buggy offers the most agility and performance when driving off road. With the perfect design, engineering and weight distribution this style of buggy can turn on a dime and be a breeze to steer using just one hand. Mountain Buggies meet the same rigorous global stability standards and tests as 4-wheel buggies.
The sport's clever design puts the fabric sling seat within the frame, rather than sitting on top as modular seats. This allows it to have lower center of gravity, which means it is easier to push, has a less weighty curb-pop (you don't have to exert as much effort to lift the buggy's nose over the curb), and offers more stability and balance. And with the huge 16'' rear wheels, lockable swivel front wheel and tyres with air that only require occasional pumping for a bump free ride over rough terrain, and a smoother more comfortable jog.
The only stroller that is all-terrain in our range that comes with an adult-facing seat that can also accept an infant car seat or carrycot, you are able to make sure your family is prepared for every adventure - from the very first day, and for years to come!
Kath the MFM reviewer, also loved the spaciousness of the buggy. There's an easily accessible large basket that's quite spacious for a buggy that's this big. Additionally, there's an excellent pouch on the back of the unit, as well as two smaller mesh pockets underneath the hood where you can keep your keys and phone.
